Centigrade, directed by Brendan Walsh, is a compelling survival thriller that effectively draws viewers into the harsh realities of its premise. The film follows a young couple, Matt and Kate, as they become trapped in their SUV during a relentless snowstorm in Norway. The claustrophobic setting amplifies the tension, and the performances of the leads are commendable, showcasing a raw emotional depth that resonates throughout the film. Walsh's direction is both measured and impactful, maintaining a steady pace that keeps the audience on edge. The cinematography beautifully captures the starkness of the snowy landscape, contrasting the couple's struggle for warmth and connection. Overall, Centigrade is a thought-provoking exploration of love and survival that leaves a lasting impression.

★★★★★3/5
Centigrade attempts to immerse viewers in a chilling survival story, but does it truly succeed? The film follows Matt and Kate, who find themselves stuck in their SUV amid a snowstorm. While the premise is undeniably gripping, the execution sometimes falters. The performances are solid, particularly in conveying the couple's emotional turmoil, but the pacing can feel drawn out. There are moments that shine, capturing the raw essence of fear and desperation, yet some scenes linger longer than necessary, risking viewer engagement. The film's ending offers a poignant note on resilience, but it may leave some audiences wanting more clarity. In a crowded genre of survival films, Centigrade stands out for its premise, but it doesn't quite reach the heights it aspires to.
