★★★★★4/5
Don is a commendable addition to the coming-of-age genre, skillfully directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi. The film's plot centres on a young man's journey through the rigours of engineering college, offering both comedic relief and poignant moments. The performances are notably strong, with the lead actor bringing an authentic charm and relatability to his character. The film's exploration of passion versus discipline resonates well, particularly in an academic context. While some scenes may feel formulaic, the overall direction and cinematography elevate the narrative. Don is an engaging watch that balances humour and heartfelt moments, making it a worthwhile experience.

★★★★★3/5
Don has its heart in the right place, but it occasionally stumbles under the weight of its own ambitions. The story of a young man trying to find his footing in a strict college is relatable, yet the pacing can drag, leaving viewers yearning for more dynamic moments. The performances are decent, though they don't always shine through the somewhat predictable script. There are flashes of brilliance, especially in scenes that tackle the pressures of academic life, but they are often overshadowed by clichés. If you're in the mood for a light-hearted film with a familiar plot, Don might just fit the bill, but don't expect groundbreaking storytelling.
