★★★★★4/5
Australian Lockdown Comedy Festival is a refreshing and timely addition to the comedy genre, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Tim Bartley, this four-part series features a stellar lineup of over 20 comedians, each performing from the comfort of their own homes. The unique setting adds an intimate layer to their performances, allowing audiences to connect with the comedians in a way that traditional venues cannot. The humour is varied, with each comedian bringing their own perspective on lockdown life, from the mundane to the absurd. While some routines hit harder than others, the overall experience is one of camaraderie and shared laughter. It serves as a reminder of the resilience of comedy in the face of adversity and is well worth a watch for anyone in need of a laugh.

★★★★★3/5
The Australian Lockdown Comedy Festival is an interesting concept, but it occasionally feels like a mixed bag. While it's heartwarming to see our favourite comedians adapting to lockdown by performing from their homes, not every set lands as intended. Some comedians shine with relatable anecdotes about isolation, while others struggle to connect with the audience through a screen. The charm of the series lies in its authenticity; you can see the comedians' genuine attempts to bring joy during a difficult time. However, the production lacks the polish of a traditional comedy special, which may leave some viewers longing for a more cohesive experience. Overall, it's a decent watch for fans of Australian comedy, but it may not appeal to everyone.
