Western Bulldogs AFL Live Stream and Free to Air TV Guide

Western Bulldogs

The Western Bulldogs, or once known as the Footscray Football Club, are one of the only teams to win a premiership in the last five years aside from Richmond. The Western Bulldogs have remained one of the top contenders for the AFL premiership since their 2016 grand final win. Barely missing out on the 2019 flag, losing out to the Greater Western Sydney Giants who later went on to be embarrassingly thrashed by Richmond 114-25, the Bulldogs have remained in close proximity to the flag since.

Currently, the only awarded player in the Bulldogs’ side is 2016 Norm Smith Medalist Jason Johannisen, though he is incredibly likely to soon be joined by future Brownlow, Coleman or even Norm Smith medallists like Marcus Bontempelli, Adam Treloar, Josh Bruce or Cody Weightman.

Western Bulldogs 2021 Preview

Premiership and All-Australian head coach, Luke Beveridge is confident he can lead the Western Bulldogs to another AFL Grand Final glory, and the team are prepared to fight for their finals dreams. The club have been the league favourite in almost every season since 2016, with 2021 being no exception as they quickly made scraps of the teams they played.

Currently sitting around the top of the AFL ladder, the Western Bulldogs have a staggeringly small amount of losses amongst all the teams. While their record has been fantastic so far, their losses have been formidable, losing out to teams like Geelong who were premiership runners up last season and the Sydney Swans which is not unusual as the team’s clash is often a blockbuster.

Part of their rise can be owed to the Bulldog’s team of young guns. A season or two ago, their rookies meant little if anything, but with the right leadership players like Cody Weightman and Bailey Smith are AFL stars. Now that the Bulldogs are almost unbeatable, it’s not hard to see another AFL grand final coming to Western Melbourne.

Stream AFL with your favourite Device

Here are some of the best devices to use when streaming sport on your home TV.

Apple TV

For years, Apple TV devices have been an ideal instant streaming solution that does it all. There are two models available – Apple TV HD handles video up to 1080p, while Apple TV 4K adds full support for 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision. Kayo Sports is great on Apple TV, with flawless 4-way Split View.

Google Chromecast

A hugely popular low-cost streaming solution, Google’s Chromecast got a make-over in 2020, and now comes in two very different flavours. The basic Chromecast is still available, but the newer Google TV version (which replaces the Ultra) adds a remote control and an on-screen interface.

Telstra TV

Now in its third generation and boasting better performance than ever, Telstra TV is a great choice for those who want to plug in and get streaming with no hassles. It has a friendly user interface and all the apps you need to get streaming, including full support for Kayo and Foxtel.

Foxtel Now Box

Foxtel’s own streaming box is an Android TV device that brings the Foxtel Now experience front and centre in its user interface – making it a natural choice if your preferred way of streaming sports is via the live channels that Foxtel Now offers, with on-demand streaming and live free-to-air channels as well.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

This easy alternative comes in three flavours – a budget Lite model, the standard one, and a 4K version. All of them are simple “plug in and go” stick-shaped devices that work similarly to Google’s newest Chromecast, except these use Amazon’s custom user interface and support Alexa voice control.

Nvidia Shield TV

A powerful Android TV streaming device from one of the world’s leading PC graphics companies comes in the form of a small “tube” with connections at either end, along with a slim backlit remote control. It can easily deal with every streaming app under the sun, including Kayo and Foxtel.
