The 2026 NFL season is under way, and in Australia it has more ways to watch than ever. Seven and 7plus Sport have the free-to-air rights, ESPN carries the pay-TV rights through Kayo, Foxtel and Disney+, and Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday 14 February 2027 in Los Angeles, which is Monday 15 February in Australia. This guide has the 2026-27 rights, the key dates and what we could not confirm.

How to watch the NFL in Australia in 2026-27

Where	What you get	What to know
Seven and 7plus Sport (free)	"Key weekly matches", the playoffs and Super Bowl LXI, plus the weekly NFL Tailgate show	Seven announced on 31 July 2026 that it has the exclusive free-to-air rights for the 2026 season. Seven did not publish a game count per week
ESPN on Kayo and Foxtel	Six live games per gameweek in the regular season (108 in all), every playoff game and Super Bowl LXI	ESPN renewed its pay-TV NFL rights in August 2026. Kayo and Foxtel both carry ESPN
ESPN on Disney+	At least six live games a week, every playoff game, the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl LXI, with NFL RedZone exclusive to Disney+	Disney+ says ESPN is in the Disney+ subscription, with replays on demand for 72 hours after each live game
Netflix	The NFL Melbourne game was shown on Netflix in Australia, according to ESPN's preview	We could not confirm that Netflix's other 2026 games (such as Christmas Day) are available in Australia

Pay-TV and Disney+ coverage is the full-season option. Seven and 7plus are the free one: Seven says it will show "the best games every week" and the playoffs, without giving a number.

NFL on free-to-air TV: Seven and 7plus

Seven and 7plus Sport are the free home of the NFL in Australia for 2026. Seven's announcement of 31 July 2026 promises:

• The Melbourne game, the first regular-season NFL game ever played in Australia.
• "Key weekly matches" through the whole season. Seven did not say how many games, so we are not putting a number on it. In earlier seasons Seven showed the Thursday night game (a Friday morning in Australia) and two Sunday games (Monday morning); that is a pattern, not a 2026 promise.
• The playoffs and Super Bowl LXI.
• NFL Tailgate twice a week: a Friday preview show and a Monday morning review show.

7plus needs a free account and an Australian location. Our 7plus review explains how to set it up.

NFL on ESPN: Kayo, Foxtel and Disney+

ESPN renewed its pay-TV rights to the NFL in Australia and New Zealand for the 2026 season, and says it will show six live games per gameweek across the regular season (108 games), every postseason game and Super Bowl LXI. ESPN is on three services:

• Kayo. Foxtel Group confirmed in September 2026 that Kayo keeps carrying ESPN's US sports, including the NFL.
• Foxtel. Foxtel and Kayo renewed their ESPN deal in August 2025, so ESPN and ESPN2 stay on both.
• Disney+. ESPN has been part of Disney+ in Australia since March 2025. Disney+ lists Thursday Night, Sunday Afternoon, Sunday Night and Monday Night games, Thanksgiving Day, every playoff game and the Super Bowl, and NFL RedZone is exclusive to Disney+, with more than seven hours of coverage every NFL Monday in Australia.

If you want replays, Disney+ says each game stays on demand for 72 hours after the live broadcast. Our ESPN guide explains the channels, and the Kayo Minis guide covers shortened replays on Kayo.

NFL 2026-27 key dates (Australian time)

Event	US date	Australian date	Source and notes
Season opener, Seattle Seahawks v New England Patriots	Wednesday 9 September 2026	Thursday 10 September	Disney+ lists the opener as Thursday 10 September AEST
NFL Melbourne Game, San Francisco 49ers v Los Angeles Rams, MCG	Thursday 10 September	Friday 11 September, kick-off 10:35am AEST	Played; the 49ers won
Last regular-season games	Sunday 10 January 2027	Monday 11 January	Week 18
Wild Card round	16-18 January 2027	17-19 January	Playoffs start 16 January
Super Bowl LXI, SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California	Sunday 14 February 2027	Monday 15 February	Kick-off time not yet published in what we read

Games in the US evening land in the Australian morning. A Thursday night game is on your Friday morning, Sunday games run into Monday, and Monday Night Football finishes on Tuesday morning. The Australian dates above are one day after the US date, which holds for evening games in the US. The Melbourne kick-off time is from Disney+ and Time Out, which also give 10:05am in South Australia and the Northern Territory and 8:35am in Western Australia.

What happened at the NFL Melbourne Game

The 49ers beat the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday 11 September, in the first regular-season NFL game played in Australia. Sportcal reported on 14 September that 2.19 million Australians tuned in to Seven's coverage, with 938,000 watching on the linear channel and more than 155,000 on 7plus Sport.

NFL Game Pass and other ways to watch

The old version of this guide recommended NFL Game Pass on DAZN. We could not confirm 2026-27 Australian availability or pricing for NFL Game Pass, so we are not recommending it. If you want every game rather than the Seven selection, ESPN on Kayo, Foxtel or Disney+ is the confirmed route. The NFL also has a deal with the YouTube channel CayoTV for 18 Sunday-afternoon games in the 2026 season; Sportcal's report does not say whether that is available in Australia.

NFL fixtures and ladder

Our NFL fixtures page lists the games and which Australian service carries them, and the NFL ladder has the standings. All of the NFL is on our NFL hub.

What we could not confirm

• How many games Seven shows each week in 2026-27. Seven's announcement says "key weekly matches" and gives no number.
• The kick-off time of Super Bowl LXI. We did not find it published.
• Whether Netflix's other 2026 games are on Netflix in Australia.
• NFL Game Pass pricing and availability in Australia for 2026-27.
• How long ESPN's NFL extension runs. Sportcal's 24 August 2026 report covers the 2026 season, the playoffs and the Super Bowl and does not give an end date.
