Collingwood AFL Live Streaming and Free to Air TV Guide

Collingwood Magpies

The Collingwood Football Club, otherwise known as the Magpies or simply just the Pies, are one of football’s oldest teams having been established in 1892. They were one of the core teams that made up the VFA and then later the VFL. The Magpies have won fifteen premierships and hold several Grand Final records. They have taken part in a league-record 44 Grand Final games, with the unfortunate record of most losses (27). With their last premiership coming in 2010, they made the finals every year between 2013-2018, but have slid down the ladder since.

With the team’s huge legacy of greats, the current Collingwood Magpies side is no exception. The immediate players that come to mind are future hall of famers Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom and Brody Grundy. There are big names in the prime of their career at Collingwood like Jack Crisp, Brody Mihocek, Josh Daicos, Jordan De Goey and Taylor Adams. The Pies still have a long way to go with their current performance, but they also have the roster to do it.

2021 Collingwood Preview

Currently filling the gigantic shoes of Brownlow and Norm Smith medallist Nathan Buckley as an interim coach, two-time Brownlow medallist Robert Harvey will act as caretaker for the club pending good results, with a 2021 AFL final series not looking likely. The club has not been a favourite this year and have had their fair share of distractions with the resignation of both the club president and the head coach.

Currently sitting quite low on the AFL ladder. Their losses currently come against finals contenders like Port Adelaide, Brisbane Lions and the Western Bulldogs, by some pretty fine margins at that. In the case of Port and Brisbane, the losses were both by a single point. The Magpies have a tight run home with more of the same in finals contenders and mid-tier sides, but if their wins over the Melbourne Demons and the Richmond Tigers tell us anything, it’s that we can never be too sure.

These slight moments of hope can be owed to the club’s list of unrelenting players. The Pies roster has some big talent like Jack Crisp and Taylor Adams who are often leading the team in touches. Sadly, it seems the year has been written off for Collingwood but when the dust settles, next year may be a very interesting season indeed.
