Given the number of Australians playing in Major League Baseball has steadily increased in the last twenty years, it’s only natural that the sport as a whole has enjoyed a significant rise in viewership here.

That trend will only continue in the 2025 season, and with the expanded interest comes a variety of ways to watch or stream MLB games in Australia.

As such, fans down under are keen to know how to watch the World Series live, on-demand, or even free. Read on for those details and more.

Here in Australia, the rights to broadcast Major League Baseball are with the ESPN channels. This means that you can watch MLB coverage through Kayo Sports, Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Telstra. The ESPN channels are included as part of the Sports package (Foxtel) or via any Kayo plan.

If you have television services with Fetch TV already, you can get their ESPN add-on sports package along with one of their base packs, which will provide live games from your favourite team in no time.

ESPN will show a holistic overview of the MLB season, which includes the MLB regular season games, and of course the dramatic conclusion from the MLB postseason.

With Kayo Sports you will have access to the same sports broadcasts as Foxtel, and will stream Major League Baseball games to eligible devices and browsers.

For fans who want to catch up on the late-night or early-morning action, Kayo Minis provide on demand MLB replays after the games have concluded. After which you can enjoy the extensive range of documentaries and other baseball related content available on the platform.

Kayo also have many built-in features that maximise your viewing experience. Features such as Interactive Graphics, SplitView, No Spoilers and a Key Moments option which provide highlights throughout the sporting events in real-time.

Kayo doesn’t have a lock-in contract or equipment fees, which means you can cancel anytime if you’re no longer using it. To check it out, simply choose between the Basic or Premium plans.

Another option for watching Major League Baseball is with Foxtel Now. The Foxtel Now online streaming service offers access to all the sport on Foxtel via their Sports HD Pack.

That means that you get access to all the live and on-demand sports Foxtel, via Fox Sports and ESPN, has to offer. You also won’t have to miss a key moment of the best action of the week with FOX Mini’s, condensed highlights that will air just hours after a game have concluded.

In addition to being internet-connected, Foxtel Now also includes the option to stream MLB using the Foxtel Go app when you’re away from home. If you decide Foxtel Now is not for you, simply pause or cancel your subscription at anytime.

MLB.TV is a streaming service covering every angle of Major League Baseball, including scores, news, videos and live streams of every regular season, playoff and World Series game.

MLB.TV can be accessed in Australia directly from their website, or via downloading their App. There’s yearly and monthly subscriptions, as well as packages that just cover your favourite team.

Keep in mind though, that some games might not be available due to black-out policies. The streaming also isn’t as crisp as Kayo or Foxtel Now. So if you’re an avid fan and want to watch the World Series, the other options should provide a better experience.

However you attain the ESPN channels as documented here, there might come a point when baseball isn’t available. Don’t worry however, as ESPN has a good range of American sports to feast on. The NBA, the NFL, and even NHL Hockey are available via this channel.
