The Green Knight Movie

A fascinating historical drama is set to hit the screens very soon – The Green Knight. The epic fantasy adventure based on King Arthur’s headstrong nephew Sir Gawain will air on the last week of October. The film features Sir Gawain and his daring quest to confront the Green Knight.

With a star-studded cast including Dev Patel, Sean Harris, Joel Edgerton, Alicia Vikander, and Barry Keoghan, the Green Knight has already set the movie theatres on fire! Offering a fresh and bold spin on the Arthurian legend, it’s a treat to history/fantasy fans. Let’s see how you can stream The Green Knight!

What’s in this Guide?

This absorbing adventure is about King Arthur’s reckless nephew, who sets on a daring quest to settle his score with the Green Knight.

Directed by visionary filmmaker David Lowery, the film picturizes a fabled round table meeting arranged by King Arthur, where Sir Gawain is summoned. His mother, Morgan le Fay, performs a ritual that beckons an emerald-skinned stranger, the Green Knight.

He throws an open challenge to the court members – any knight who is able to land a blow on him will win the green axe as a prize. But the knight will have to visit the Green Chapel next Christmas to receive a blow from the Green Knight.

Declaring this, he lowers his head while kneeling, and Sir Gawain lands a severe blow to decapitate his head. Then, the emerald-skinned stranger reminds him of the challenge’s clause and rides out of the Camelot castle.

The epic fantasy adventure continues by portraying the story of Gawain as he spends his time drinking and preparing himself mentally for the upcoming Christmas. Morgan le Fay makes him wear a green girdle so that no harm touches her son and fulfils his part of the challenge with the Green Knight.

The classic tale created by visionary filmmaker David Lowery depicts many intriguing characters in a masterful visual style. Along his daring quest, Sir Gawain meets many characters who help him find the way to the Green Chapel. He also ventures into a deeper journey of self-exploration, as he learns something from each character who assigns him a task.

How will the story of Sir Gawain conclude? Will he meet his end or overpower the eponymous Green Knight? You just have to watch this epic fantasy adventure to know all about the timeless Arthurian legend.
