Six friends in Manhattan navigate career and love, sharing each other’s ups and downs at their go-to coffeehouse, Central Perk. There’s Rachel Green, runaway bride who’s staying with high school pal Monica Geller while she figures out how to make it on her own. Monica is a talented chef who really likes things clean. Her brother, Ross, is a paleontologist who likes to correct everyone's grammar. Friends ran from 1994 to 2004. After 10 successful seasons, it was reported that the creators felt it was time to end the show. Ending the series while it was still popular was also part of the plan, rather than dragging it on and risking a loss of its comedic relevance and emotional impact.
