The Worst Idea Ever is a refreshing take on friendship and the trials of adulthood, blending comedy with emotional resonance. The plot centres on two game developers whose paths diverge, leading to a bachelorette party filled with LARPing that serves as a catalyst for their long-standing grievances. The performances are commendable, particularly the chemistry between the leads, who embody their characters' complexities with finesse. The film's direction maintains a light-hearted tone while allowing poignant moments to shine through, creating a satisfying narrative arc. The dialogue is sharp and witty, resonating with anyone who has ever felt the pull of nostalgia versus the demands of growing up. Overall, it is a film that entertains while prompting reflection on personal dreams and friendships.

★★★★★3/5
The Worst Idea Ever tries to juggle humour and heartfelt moments but occasionally stumbles in its execution. The premise is intriguing: two friends, a bachelorette party, and the clash of their differing life goals. However, while the film has its funny moments, some scenes feel forced, and the pacing can drag. The characters are relatable, but their development sometimes lacks depth, leaving viewers wanting more. The emotional peaks are there, yet they don’t always hit home as intended. It’s a decent watch for a light-hearted evening, but don’t go in expecting a groundbreaking narrative. It’s enjoyable enough but not without its flaws.
