Paik's Spirit invites viewers into the vibrant world of Korean culinary culture, expertly guided by Baek Jong Won. This reality series elegantly weaves together the themes of food, drink, and personal stories, creating a delightful viewing experience. Each episode features a different celebrity guest, allowing for varied discussions that range from light-hearted banter to profound reflections on life. The cinematography captures the rich textures and colours of the dishes, enhancing the sensory experience. The conversations flow effortlessly, much like the drinks shared at the table, and the atmosphere is inviting and warm. While the series may lack a traditional narrative arc, its charm lies in the moments shared over food, making it a captivating watch for food enthusiasts and casual viewers alike.

★★★★★3/5
If you’re looking for an easy-going series that celebrates food and drink, Paik's Spirit might just hit the spot. Baek Jong Won, with his infectious passion for Korean cuisine, leads the way as he shares tables with a mix of celebrities. The show leans heavily into the casual vibe, making it feel more like a gathering of friends than a structured programme. However, this relaxed approach sometimes results in a lack of depth, leaving viewers craving more substance in the discussions. While it’s enjoyable to watch the guests sip and chat, those seeking a deeper exploration of food culture might be left wanting. All in all, it’s a pleasant experience, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of other culinary shows.
