★★★★★4/5
Monica, O My Darling presents a fascinating narrative that intertwines elements of dark comedy and thriller in a refreshingly unique manner. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film follows a robotics expert who finds himself entangled in a deadly conspiracy after a passionate affair. The plot is cleverly constructed, with each twist revealing deeper layers of deception and human emotion. The performances are commendable, particularly the lead, whose portrayal of a man caught in a web of intrigue is both compelling and relatable. The film's cinematography enhances its edgy tone, effectively capturing the tension and unpredictability of the storyline. While it may not cater to everyone’s tastes, those who enjoy a mix of suspense and dark humour will find much to appreciate in this film.

★★★★★3/5
Monica, O My Darling is a wild ride that sometimes feels like it's trying a bit too hard to be clever. The plot, while intriguing, gets convoluted in parts, and there are moments where the pacing drags. The characters are well-acted, but I found myself wishing for more depth in their development. The film has its shining moments of dark humour, and the unexpected twists keep you guessing, but it occasionally loses focus on what truly matters: emotional connection. Overall, it's an entertaining watch if you're in the mood for something offbeat, but it doesn't quite hit all the right notes.
