★★★★★3/5
Life of Crime: 1984-2020 is a raw and emotional documentary that pulls no punches in its portrayal of addiction and crime. Jon Alpert takes us on a journey through the lives of those caught in this relentless cycle, and while the film is undeniably powerful, it can be hard to watch at times. The characters are relatable yet tragic, and their stories linger long after the credits roll. However, the pacing can feel uneven, and some viewers may find the length a bit daunting. Still, the film shines a light on important social issues, making it a worthwhile viewing experience for those interested in the realities of life on the streets. Just be prepared for some heavy content.
