Review Team
★★★★★4/5
Liaison presents a compelling narrative that intertwines personal conflict with global stakes, showcasing the complexities of relationships under pressure. The film follows two agents, former lovers, as they navigate their tumultuous past while combating international cyberattacks threatening the UK. The performances are commendable, particularly the chemistry between the leads, which adds a layer of tension to their mission. Director, who crafts a visually engaging experience, balances action sequences with moments of introspection, allowing viewers to connect with the characters on a deeper level. The pacing may occasionally falter, but the emotional depth and suspenseful plot twists keep the audience invested. Overall, Liaison is a gripping thriller that effectively marries action with emotional resonance.
Editor Team
★★★★★3/5
Liaison tries hard to be a thrilling ride, but it sometimes gets lost in its own convoluted plot. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, yet their backstory feels a bit forced at times, almost overshadowing the cyber threat they are supposed to be tackling. While the action scenes are well-executed, they don’t quite make up for the moments where the film drags. It’s an enjoyable watch for fans of the genre, but it doesn't break new ground. The emotional stakes are there, but they could have been explored more deeply. If you’re in the mood for a decent spy thriller with a bit of romance, Liaison might just fit the bill, but don’t expect it to leave a lasting impression.
