It's What's Inside, directed by Greg Jardin, presents a poignant exploration of self-identity and acceptance. The narrative follows the protagonist's transformative journey, revealing the layers of their character through beautifully crafted scenes. The performances are commendable, particularly the lead, who captures the nuances of vulnerability and strength. Jardin's direction is subtle yet effective, allowing the emotional weight of the story to resonate without overwhelming the audience. The cinematography complements the narrative, with warm tones that evoke a sense of comfort and introspection. While the film occasionally treads familiar ground, its heartfelt message about inner beauty and resilience shines through. ★★★★★3/5
It's What's Inside is an earnest attempt at tackling themes of self-discovery, but it sometimes feels like it bites off more than it can chew. The film has its heart in the right place, and there are moments that genuinely tug at the heartstrings. However, the pacing can be uneven, leaving some character arcs feeling rushed. The lead performance is solid, and there are some touching scenes that remind us of the importance of embracing who we are. Yet, it lacks the depth that could have made it truly memorable. The direction by Greg Jardin is competent, but it doesn’t quite reach the emotional highs that the premise promises. It's a decent watch, especially for those who enjoy character-driven stories, but it may not leave a lasting impression.
