Homem com H offers a profound exploration of Ney Matogrosso's life, art, and the societal constraints he faced. Directed by Esmir Filho, the film artfully intertwines moments of personal struggle with the vibrant tapestry of Brazilian music. The cinematography captures the emotional intensity of Ney's performances, while the script delves into the depths of his character. The journey from repression to artistic liberation serves as both inspiration and reflection for viewers. The performances are powerful, particularly the lead, who embodies Ney's spirit with authenticity. Overall, this film is a commendable tribute to a cultural icon and a testament to the transformative power of music.

★★★★★3/5
Homem com H is an ambitious portrayal of Ney Matogrosso's journey, but at times it feels a bit too polished and safe. While the performances are commendable, especially from the lead, the narrative occasionally struggles to balance the weight of Ney's personal story with the broader cultural commentary. The film shines in its musical segments, bringing Ney's artistry to life, yet some viewers might find the pacing uneven. It touches on important themes of identity and self-acceptance, but leaves you wanting a deeper dive into Ney's complexities. For fans of biopics, it’s certainly engaging, but it may not resonate with everyone.
