★★★★★3/5
At first glance, 魔王軍最強の魔術師は人間だった seems like your typical fantasy adventure, but it has its moments. The story follows Ike, a magician leading the Demon Lord's Army, who is secretly human. While the premise sounds intriguing, the execution sometimes falters. The pacing can drag, and some characters feel underdeveloped. However, the action scenes are impressive, and there are flashes of brilliance in the dialogue that resonate. The film's heart lies in its exploration of identity, though it doesn't always hit the emotional notes it aims for. It's a decent watch for fans of the genre, but those looking for a tightly woven narrative may find it lacking.
