正港分局 is a thrilling addition to the crime genre, masterfully directed by Cheng Wei-hao. The film centres around a rookie police captain and a goofy detective as they navigate a series of chilling murders linked by word games. The plot is well-crafted, keeping viewers engaged with unexpected twists and turns. The performances are commendable, particularly from the lead duo, whose chemistry brings a light-hearted touch to the otherwise dark narrative. The film's cinematography effectively captures the tension and urgency of the investigation. While it occasionally leans into genre clichés, it ultimately stands out for its unique premise and character dynamics, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of suspenseful storytelling.

正港分局 has the makings of a captivating thriller but stumbles in its execution. The premise of a serial killer staging murders as word games is intriguing, yet the film often feels overstuffed with subplots that detract from the main story. The rookie captain and goofy detective provide some comic relief, but their antics can feel out of place amidst the tension. While the film does deliver a few genuine suspenseful moments, it lacks the emotional depth needed to fully engage the audience. Overall, it's an entertaining watch, but it doesn't quite hit the mark for those seeking a truly gripping experience.
