★★★★★4/5
ニャイト・オブ・ザ・リビングキャット is a refreshing and entertaining entry into the horror-comedy genre. The film's premise, where a virus transforms humans into feral cats, is both bizarre and captivating. Kunagi, portrayed with nuance, is a compelling protagonist navigating this chaotic new world. The film balances humour and horror effectively, with moments that are genuinely funny juxtaposed with tense, eerie scenes. The direction is commendable, creating a visually engaging experience that pulls the audience into its unique reality. While the film may not appeal to everyone, particularly younger viewers, it offers a delightful mix of absurdity and suspense that will resonate with fans of unconventional storytelling.

If you're in the mood for something different, ニャイト・オブ・ザ・リビングキャット might just scratch that itch. The idea of a virus turning people into cats is as silly as it sounds, and while the film has its moments of charm, it doesn't always hit the mark. Kunagi is an interesting character, but at times the plot feels a bit thin. The mix of comedy and horror can be jarring, and some viewers may find the tone inconsistent. However, for those who enjoy quirky narratives and a good laugh with a side of fright, this film provides an entertaining ride. Just be prepared for a few eye-rolls along the way.
