The 2023 Supercars Championship now heads to the Mount Panorama Circuit for the 60th anniversary of Australia’s most prestigious race of the ongoing season.

Held annually in the town of Bathurst, New South Wales, the 2023 edition will kick-off on Thursday, 5 October, and wrap-up on Sunday, 8 October. In between there will be four days of non-stop action to include practices, qualifying, the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, V8 SuperUtes, the Dunlop Series and the Great Race itself.

With so much happening, motorsport fans will be excited to know there’s several options for watching live at home on TV, streaming the action to a mobile device, or catching replays after the races have concluded.

There’s a reason the Bathurst 1000 is called “The Great Race”, and one of the most-watched sporting events on the Australian calendar. To begin with the Mount Panorama Circuit, simply referred to as “The Mountain”, is one of the most scenic racing locations world-wide.

That’s because the track was literally cut from the side of Mount Panorama, and features a 174-metre difference in elevation between its lowest and highest levels. It also has 23 challenging turns, and any one of them is capable of cutting a driver’s race short.

The track itself travels over 6.1 kilometers of public road, and each turn has a unique name such as Hell Corner, Brock’s Skyline and The Cutting. The Bathurst 1000 race itself takes involves 161 laps and takes over six hours to complete, so it’s equal parts skill, endurance and sheer survival.

That’s why for the drivers a win in the Bathurst 1000 is nearly equal to winning the Supercars Championship, because it means their name will be etched into history.

The 2023 Bathurst 1000 Supercars Championship weekend covers a total of four days, starting on Thursday, October 5th and finishing on Sunday, October 8th.

Sunday’s featured event, the Repco Bathurst 1000, can take up to seven hours to complete due to weather, stoppages and other unforeseen events, but fortunately you won’t have to miss a key moment of the action given all the viewing options that are available.

Here in 2023 the broadcast rights for the Bathurst 1000 will once again be shared across Fox Sports (Foxtel/Kayo) and free to air Network Seven.
