The film follows a contractor and his wife as they attempt to renovate a beach house in Malibu, only to find themselves tormented by a homeless woman living beneath it. The performances, particularly that of the antagonist, are commendable, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a disturbed individual. However, the film struggles with pacing in certain sections, leading to moments that feel drawn out. The direction by Martin Guigui is competent, but at times lacks the intensity needed to fully engage the audience. The characters, especially the couple, lack depth, making it hard to empathise with their plight. While the film has its fair share of suspenseful moments, the pacing drags in places, and some scenes feel unnecessarily prolonged. There's a disconnect between the intended psychological horror and the actual scares delivered.
