The mother-son duo is relatable, but I felt their performances sometimes fell flat amid the chaos. The gore is over-the-top, and while some horror fans may appreciate that, it felt excessive to me. Dan Allen’s direction has its moments, but the pacing drags at times, leaving you waiting for the next scare.
