However, as the film progresses, it begins to feel like it’s checking off boxes on the thriller checklist. Sure, the performances are solid, especially from the lead, but the plot twists can be predictable at times. There’s a nice build-up of tension, but I found myself wishing for more depth in the characters. The film does have its moments, and the urgency of the storyline keeps you engaged, but it doesn’t quite break new ground. If you’re in the mood for a straightforward thriller, Countdown will entertain, but don’t expect it to revolutionise the genre. Show less
