Girl You Know It's True offers a captivating insight into one of the most notorious scandals in music history. Directed by Simon Verhoeven, the film effectively captures the essence of the late 80s music scene while exploring the lives of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. The performances are commendable, with the actors portraying the duo's rise and fall with sincerity and depth. The narrative is well-paced, blending moments of triumph with the harsh realities of fame and deception. While the film does take some creative liberties, it remains grounded in the emotional turmoil experienced by its protagonists. Overall, it is a compelling watch for both music enthusiasts and those intrigued by tales of fame.

Girl You Know It's True tries to shine a light on the infamous Milli Vanilli scandal but ends up feeling a bit like a missed opportunity. While the premise is undeniably intriguing, the film sometimes gets bogged down in melodrama rather than focusing on the real issues at stake. The performances are decent, but they lack the spark needed to fully engage the audience. There are moments that capture the glitz and glamour of the 80s, yet the pacing often drags, making it feel longer than it should. For those who love music history, it’s worth a watch, but don’t expect a flawless execution. It’s entertaining, yet it leaves you wanting more depth.
