There are flashes of brilliance, especially in the opening scenes, but as the plot unfolds, it sometimes loses focus. The pacing drags in parts, and while the performances are solid, they can’t always lift the material. I found myself wanting more depth in the character development and a tighter narrative. The film does evoke a certain creepiness, and there are definitely some chilling scenes, but it may not be enough to satisfy hardcore horror fans.
