Disney+ has finally arrived on Australian shores and has since been making waves with its massive exclusive content all available for a very affordable price. If that’s not enough, this new kid on the streaming block also offers a wide range of device compatibility on which you can watch your favourites from Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and more.

With the hype surrounding the launch of Disney Plus in Australia, the pressure was on for the new streaming service to deliver on its promise — and deliver it did. For only $8.99/month, you can get access to its extensive library consisting of about 600 movies and around 160 TV series. New users also get to have a taste of this exclusive content when they sign up, during which you can already stream new shows like Encore and The Mandalorian, plus blockbuster movies such as Frozen and Avengers across a wide range of devices available to the Australian audience.

Fortunately for Disney fans there’s a wide variety of devices that are compatible with the service. Here’s a list of the most popular streaming options available to Australian Disney Plus members.

Using the Amazon Fire TV Stick allows you to wirelessly stream content from your mobile devices onto your TV — similar to how Google Chromecast works. The difference is that you can actually install apps on your Fire TV Stick including the Disney+ app, which then lets you stream even without a mobile device. To start streaming without a mobile device, simply search for the Disney Plus app on the home screen and log in using your credentials.

No smart TV? No problem, if you have a Google Chromecast on hand. This handy device lets you project or “cast” your favourite shows and movies on Disney+ onto your TV screen. To start watching, simply have your Chromecast device connected to your TV and then use your smartphone as a remote in “casting” content from the streaming platform.

Much like other popular streaming providers like Netflix and Stan, Disney+ also has an available app that you can download from the App Store. Just login using your Disney+ credentials and start streaming across a wide range of devices such as your iPhone and iPad.

Similarly, Disney+ also has an app for Android devices, including smartphones, tablets and TVs running Android TV. This app can be used across several Android devices including smartphones, tablets, and TVs running on Android TV.

Disney+ can be streamed on either a 4th or 5th generation Apple TV. Simply download and install the app directly to the device and start watching on the big screen. If you have an older model of Apple TV, simply use AirPlay to stream Disney+ shows and movies.

Disney+ is also available on both the Xbox One and the Sony Playstation 4. For the Xbox One, simply download the app from the Microsoft Store, install, login, and then stream. As for the Playstation 4, you can also download the Disney Plus app to get started.

If you have a Sony smart TV with Android TV, you can likewise stream Disney Plus shows and movies by installing the app from either Google Play or Sony Select.

Own a Samsung or an LG smart TV? Don’t fret because you can easily install the Disney+ app from their respective stores. Do take note that the app would only work on models from 2016 onwards.

Enter the wonderful world of Disney through Disney Plus. With over 700 TV series and movies within its catalogue upon launch, it’s well worth adding this new streaming platform to your valued subscriptions. For a measly $8.99/month, you’ll gain access to premium shows and blockbuster movies that you may no longer find on any other streaming platform. Sign up and start streaming the best of what the world of Disney has to offer!
