While the premise is intriguing, I found myself wishing for a bit more depth in the storyline. The animation is fantastic, and you can definitely see Selick's unique touch, but at times, the film feels more style over substance. Kat, the main character, is relatable, and her struggles with guilt add a layer of emotional weight, but the pacing can be uneven. Some scenes hit the mark while others drag, making it a mixed bag. It’s enjoyable, no doubt, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Selick's earlier works. If you’re after a fun, slightly spooky adventure, give it a go, but manage your expectations.
