About The Eminence in Shadow
Shadowbrokers are those who go unnoticed, posing as unremarkable people, when in truth, they control everything from behind the scenes. Sid wants to be someone just like that more than anything, and something as insignificant as boring reality isn’t going to get in his way! He trains in secret every single night, preparing for his eventual rise to power-only to be denied his destiny by a run-of-the-mill (yet deadly) traffic accident. But when he wakes up in a another world and suddenly finds himself at the head of an actual secret organization doing battle with evil in the shadows, he’ll finally get a chance to act out all of his delusional fantasies!

★★★★★4/5
The Eminence in Shadow offers a refreshing take on the isekai genre, blending elements of comedy, adventure, and fantasy in a narrative that is both engaging and whimsical. The plot follows Sid, a young man whose aspirations to become a powerful shadowbroker lead him to a world where he finally gets to act out his wild fantasies. The film's direction is sharp, with a vibrant aesthetic that captures the essence of its fantastical elements. The performances are commendable, particularly the voice acting, which adds depth to the characters. While the film embraces its absurdity, it also manages to convey more profound themes of ambition and the nature of power. Overall, The Eminence in Shadow is an entertaining ride that balances light-hearted moments with action, making it a worthy addition to the genre.

★★★★★3.5/5
The Eminence in Shadow is a quirky film that plays with the idea of hidden power and fantasy escapism. Sid, our protagonist, is a relatable character whose dreams of becoming a shadowbroker resonate with anyone who has fantasised about being more than they are. The film's humour can be hit or miss, with some moments landing perfectly while others feel a bit forced. The animation is bright and colourful, which adds to the overall charm, but the story sometimes gets bogged down by its own convoluted plot twists. While it’s not without its flaws, The Eminence in Shadow provides plenty of entertainment, especially for fans of the genre. It’s a fun watch, albeit one that might not appeal to everyone’s taste.
