Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi does an admirable job of telling the story of the four siblings who faced unimaginable challenges in the Colombian rainforest. While the film is undoubtedly moving, it sometimes feels like it skims over deeper emotional layers in favour of dramatic storytelling. The children's accounts are touching, but I wished for more exploration into their psychological states during their ordeal. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the lush yet perilous beauty of the jungle, but there were moments where the pacing dragged slightly, losing some of the tension.
