★★★★★4/5
Landscapers presents a chilling yet fascinating exploration of a true crime story that is both gripping and thought-provoking. The narrative, centred on the seemingly ordinary lives of Susan and Christopher Edwards, delves into the psychological aspects of their relationship and the events leading to the gruesome discovery in their garden. The performances are commendable, particularly Olivia Colman and David Thewlis, who bring depth and nuance to their characters. The series balances dark humour with moments of genuine emotional weight, making it a unique viewing experience. The direction employs a stylised approach that enhances the storytelling, allowing for moments of introspection amidst the tension. While it may not appeal to everyone due to its dark themes, those interested in character-driven narratives and true crime will find Landscapers a compelling watch.

★★★★★3/5
Landscapers is an intriguing mix of dark comedy and true crime that takes a unique angle on a disturbing subject. Olivia Colman shines as Susan Edwards, delivering a performance that is both haunting and relatable. The show’s tone oscillates between light-hearted moments and the grim reality of the couple’s actions, creating a surreal viewing experience. However, at times, the pacing feels uneven, and the narrative can meander, which might frustrate some viewers looking for a straightforward crime drama. The stylistic choices in cinematography are visually striking, but they may overshadow the emotional core of the story for some. Overall, while Landscapers has its flaws, it offers a fresh perspective on a true story that will captivate those willing to engage with its complexities.
