The premise is fantastic, with two friends caught in a web of secrets, but at times it felt like the story was trying to juggle too many themes. The animation is gorgeous, no doubt, and the vibrant colours pop off the screen, but some character arcs felt underdeveloped. I appreciated the cultural nods and the exploration of friendship, yet the pacing dragged in parts, leaving me a little disengaged.
