★★★★★4/5
ムーンライズ is a captivating addition to the sci-fi genre, weaving a tale of conflict and self-discovery amid the stark beauty of the Moon. The film introduces us to a carefree heir, thrust into a world of chaos after rebel forces attack Earth. The narrative excels in its exploration of identity and the burdens of responsibility. The performances are commendable, particularly from the lead, who convincingly portrays a character evolving from a privileged existence to one of purpose and action. The direction is sharp, with visual effects that enhance the overall experience without overshadowing the story. While the pacing occasionally falters, the emotional depth and thrilling climax make it a worthwhile watch for enthusiasts of the genre.

Let's be honest, ムーンライズ has its moments, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. The premise is intriguing enough: a carefree heir becomes an unlikely hero on the Moon, but the execution feels a bit uneven. Sure, there are some thrilling sequences and a decent performance from the lead, but the plot sometimes meanders, leaving you wanting more coherence. The visuals are striking, which helps keep your attention, but they can't completely mask the film's pacing issues. If you're a die-hard sci-fi fan, you might find something to enjoy here, but for others, it might just feel like another space adventure that doesn't quite take off.
