EPL 2025/26 Updates & Changes
It's a new era for the EPL. Liverpool is keen to hold on to its supremacy. But other teams are determined to give them a run for their money. That’s why EPL clubs have been putting in the hard yards (and millions of pounds) behind the scenes to freshen up their squads.
There’s plenty of new blood to keep things exciting in the new season. Many of these EPL updates and changes will have huge impact on the pitch. In terms of player transfers, the main changes are:
- Florian Wirtz has moved from the Bundesliga to Liverpool. Liverpool supposedly paid over £100m for him, which makes the signing a Liverpool record!
- Matheus Cunha makes a huge move from the Wolverhampton Wanderers to Man United.
- Kevin De Bruyne has left Man City after 10 years there.
It's not all on-pitch changes. Managers have also been moving around, too:
- Thomas Frank has taken over as Tottenham Hotspur head coach. Spurs fans will be keen for him to bring a new style to the club.
- Keith Andrews has become the new head coach for Brentford.
The feel of the tournament is sure to change with all these adjustments. But how? Stay in the loop and witness the magic first-hand to find out. Head over to Stan Sport, where you can watch EPL matches live and on demand at any time!
Introducing the New 8-Second Rule
Any Premier League fan knows the old 6-second rule which said that goalkeepers had to pass the ball within 6 seconds was rarely enforced in recent years. The problem? Many say this has led to increasingly blatant time wasting.
But the league wants to change this. That's why they’ve introduced a new "8-second" rule. Goalkeepers can now “hold” the ball for up to 8 seconds. But if they hold it for longer than 8 seconds the opposing team gets an automatic corner kick.
We're not totally convinced the 8-second rule will actually be enforced this season, or make much of a difference. There’s only one way to find out: watch EPL live in Australia every day on Stan Sport!
