★★★★★4/5
Shaun Micallef's Eve of Destruction presents a unique premise that pushes the boundaries of the traditional talk show format. With Micallef at the helm, the film navigates through a series of conversations that are as humorous as they are poignant. The guests, each with their own distinct backgrounds, offer a multitude of perspectives on what truly matters when faced with loss. The direction is commendable, allowing the dialogue to breathe and resonate with the audience. The film’s exploration of emotional attachments and personal values is both insightful and engaging, making it a thought-provoking watch. While the pacing may falter at times, the overall experience is rewarding, leaving viewers with much to ponder long after the credits roll.

★★★★★3/5
Shaun Micallef's Eve of Destruction is a quirky take on the talk show format that definitely has its moments. The central question posed to the guests is intriguing and leads to some genuinely funny and touching exchanges. However, the film sometimes feels stretched thin as it tries to maintain momentum over its runtime. Micallef's signature wit shines through, but there are instances where the humour may not land as intended, leading to a mixed bag of laughs. The film does a decent job of highlighting the importance of personal belongings and memories, but some viewers might find the concept a bit repetitive. Overall, it’s an entertaining watch, though not without its flaws.
