Bundesliga 2025/26 Updates & Changes
The Bundesliga always guarantees world-class footie. But that doesn’t mean it stays the same. There have been some serious switch-ups since last season - switch-ups we’re certain will make for some thrilling on-pitch clashes in the coming months.
There have been some big managerial changes since 2024/25:
- Ole Werner takes over as RB Leipzig manager after Marco Rose's sacking.
- Kasper Hjulmand became Bayer Leverkusen manager just last September.
- VfL Wolfsburg gets a new manager in the shape of Paul Simonis.
- Sandro Wagner heads to FC Augsburg to take over as manager.
But that’s not all that’s been going on. There have also been a fair few high-profile player departures and signings, too:
- Leverkusen will be feeling the loss of star player Florian Wirtz, who’s moved to Liverpool.
- Luis Díaz is joining Bayern Munich.
- Bayern Munich also picks up Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea.
- Leverkusen may have lost Wirtz, but they’re solidifying their defence with Jarell Quansah.
- RB Leipzig has been busy with multiple new signings, including Romulo Cardoso.

Introducing the New 3D Player Tracking Model
If you’re not a fan of ever-more-accurate offside tech, look away now! The Bundesliga is bringing in new 3D player tracking technology this season. The familiar old 2D point tracking we’re used to will be scrapped for a multi-point tracking system which maps the player’s whole body.
The argument is that this makes offside decisions more accurate. However, not everyone is pleased to see this introduction. But how much will it really affect gameplay? Only time will tell.
