As Netflix continues to gain huge popularity in Australia as it heads towards its first birthday here, they’re not slowing down on adding fresh content to the service, with February and March set to be blockbuster months for Netflix fans, especially those who have been enjoying the quality of Netflix’s own productions.
February sees the arrival of Love, a new Netflix Original from Judd Apatow. It’s a bittersweet comedy that follows the romantic life of a couple played by Gillian Jacobs (Community) and Paul Rust (Inglourious Basterds) and it looks like great fun. It goes live on February 19th.
Then the following week, Netflix delivers not one, but two originals – the second Netflix-produced movie, and a TV series. The movie’s a bit special – Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is a sequel to the classic action movie from 2000, with Michelle Yeoh back as Yu Shu Lien. It’s cinema-quality stuff that is actually being released in cinemas in some countries! Along with that, February 26th also brings us Fuller House – a sequel series to the ‘80s sitcom Full House, updated for the 21st century but with appearances by most of the cast of the original.

Then get ready for mega March on Netflix, because you’re going to need to set aside some bingeing time. The eagerly-awaited fourth season of House of Cards drops on March 4th, with Frank heading towards the Presidential election; we’re pretty sure he’s not going to play nice. March 11th brings us Flaked, a new comedy series from Will Arnett (Arrested Development). And then on March 18th, the Marvel TV universe expands a little more with the premiere of the second season of the superb Daredevil. Also sneaking in on that day is another Netflix movie – this time a comedy, Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, which heralds the return to the screen of Paul Ruebens’ character Pee-wee Herman.
And that’s just the Netflix Originals – as you can see, they’re really ramping up the original content, and there’s tons more to come throughout the year. In amongst all this, every week sees new movies and TV series added, making sure that when you fire up your Netflix there’s always way too much good stuff on your watch list!
