The first-ever Amazon Prime Day was held back in July 2015, giving Amazon customers top deals as part of the company’s 20th birthday celebrations. The success was so great that Amazon decided to do one every year, becoming the US giant’s mid-year version of Black Friday.

Although it was initially thought that Amazon Prime Day had been cancelled for 2020, the powers that be decided that it would only be postponed. The date earmarked for this year’s event is between October 13th and October 20th, although no official confirmation has been made.

Where is Amazon Prime Day celebrated?
The first Amazon Prime Day was available in only nine countries (U.S., UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, and Austria). Amazon Prime Day has since gone global. Last year, Prime Day deals were available in 18 countries with the addition of the likes of Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, Austria, France, China, Belgium, and of course, Australia.
In 2017, Amazon also gave customers the chance to take advantage of deals for longer. The ‘day’ became plural, with prices slashed for a full 48 hours, and even some countries, like Australia, profiting for a total of 65 hours! .
