A Very English Scandal

Politician Jeremy Thorpe starts an affair with young stablehand Norman Scott during the 1960s in England. When their relationship crumbles, Jeremy is desperate to hide their secret.

As Jeremy proceeds to get closer to becoming prime minister, Norman wants old promises to be honoured; Jeremy takes drastic steps to conceal the affair that could derail his political career.

After a botched attempt on his life, Norman publicly accuses Jeremy of being behind a plot to murder him. After many years of bad blood, the pair finally go head-to-head in court.
