A straightforward case of academic fraud involving two women, university professor Leah and student Rose, soon reveals itself to be much darker.

As relations become hostile, Leah resorts to extreme measures to expose Rose. Tensions flare between Leah and Adam, with the possibility that Adam is taking Rose's side. Rose pursues personal retaliation against Leah.

As Leah deals with Adam's betrayal, some unexpected news further complicates matters. A distraction comes in the form of Michael and Angela's anniversary party, but as Rose's behaviour becomes increasingly volatile, the truth is finally exposed.

As the police try to piece together the sequence of events, both women come under the spotlight, but they may or may not have the right one. As the investigation spirals, Leah realises she must come face-to-face with Rose one last time.
