7 characters that changed significantly over the years
One of the main things that distinguish television shows from movies is how the characters evolve and change during the course of a show. Viewers love to invest in these characters and watch them grow up and become better versions of themselves. Here are seven characters that changed drastically (mostly in a positive way) throughout the years:
1- Carol Peletier – The Walking Dead
It’s important to note that this woman spent the entire first two seasons sulking and doing the laundry. However, living in this awfully scary world forced her to toughen up and be able to fight and survive. That’s why we lately saw Carol making some very tough choices, getting her hands dirty and saving the group from an awful situation.
2- Bree Van De Kamp – Desperate Housewives.
Bree was the perfect mother and wife keeping everything in order but she ended up becoming a more human version of herself. In fact, she realized it’s impossible to control everything in her life so she decided to loosen up a bit and not let herself get held back by rules. However, she kept her more important qualities such as her strength and dignity.
3- Amber Holt – Parenthood
Despite how lost and out of control Amber was as a teenager, we see her now as a fully grown woman who is wise enough to give other people advice and loving enough to be the heart and soul of the Braverman family.
4- Jesse Pinkman – Breaking Bad
At the start of the show, Jesse was a very stupid and irresponsible kid. But Walter’s influence was huge on him to the point where he becomes a very smart man who knows how to manage his business. Plus, when Walter turned into a bad guy at the end, he became the moral compass of the show and the one that people root for the most.
5- Alicia Florrick – The Good Wife
In season one, Alicia stood by her husband after he cheated on her and the whole world started calling her “Saint Alicia”. Over the years, Alicia became stronger, less naïve, and slightly more corrupt which is a not a bad thing for a lawyer to be. Right now, she’s running for State Attorney, and she’s using her husband’s connections instead of him using her like before.
6- Ruth Fisher – Six Feet Under
Ruth was at the beginning of the show a passive aggressive control freak. She wasn’t able to express her feelings and she was a bit uptight. But by the end of the show, she became one of the best mothers on television, she let loose from time to time and she finally realized how to have fun.
7- Brooke Davis – One Tree Hill
This is a great example of how watching characters grow up over the years can be extremely rewarding. In fact, the show started with Brooke being a spoiled and selfish teenager and throughout the show she discovered her talents, opened up her own business and became selfless and more loving.
