5 Reasons to be excited over Game Of thrones season 5

5 Reasons to be excited over Game Of thrones season 5

Game of Thrones has the habit of constantly delivering multiple solid storylines and giving us many shocking twists (and our favorite characters’ deaths). Last season ended on a high note but left us wanting more. Now that we’re more than halfway through the wait, season five feels closer than ever; its trailer has yet to be released but we got some new information to make us excited over its comeback probably between March and April.

Here are five reasons to be excited over the upcoming season of Game of Thrones:

1- The High Sparrow sounds like trouble

With HBO announcing the list of new cast members, we got an idea of how incredible the next season will be. Johnathan Pryce will play the role of the High Sparrow, a powerful religious figure in Westeros who has a negative attitude against material objects which will only cause trouble in King’s Landing where the Lannisters care a lot about gold and materials.

2- The Martell family will probably increase the murder rate in Westeros

The new casting list also gave the idea that the fifth season of the show will center a lot on the Martell family. Alexander Siddig will be playing Doran Martell who is under a lot of pressure to respond to his brother’s death. Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand and Tyene sand (played by Keisha Castle-Hughes, Jessica Henwick and Rosabelle Lorenti Sellers respectively) are the Red Viper’s bastard daughters, also known as the sand snakes. The three of them are angry and powerful warriors and they’re hungry for payback.

3- Myrcella Baratheon will be back

The daughter of Cercei and Robert Baratheon was last seen in season 2 when her mother sent her to Dorne to keep the peace between Dorne and King’s landing. She is expected to come back in season five but she has been recast to Nell Tiger Free. Also, she’ll be bringing with her her betrothed Trystane Martell (played by Toby Sebastian).

4- Arya Stark’s storyline seems exciting

A couple of weeks ago, HBO teased us with a snippet of season 5. The 10-second video showed us Arya fighting, running and hiding as Melisandre’s voice echoes “I see a darkness in you” (which is taken from the season 3 episode “The Climb”). This teaser was obviously not enough to come up with a conclusion but it surely fueled our excitement.

5- More exciting action and probably more deaths

After Joffrey’s “purple wedding”, Prince Oberyn’s shocking skull-crushing and Tywin Lannister’s murder, the show has something to prove. In fact, season 4’s success will naturally stimulate the creators to come up with more shocking twists in order to keep up with the viewers’ expectations. And with the Martell’s family added to the table, expect nothing less than a jaw-dropping fifth season of Game of Thrones.
