Traditionally parents are required to be role models to their children and support them no matter how much they screw up or get in trouble. However, not all parents on television do it right…
Here’s a list of some of the best parents you can find on TV:
1. Adam and Kristina Braverman – Parenthood
Adam and Kristina would do anything for their children, up to starting a school so their highly developed yet socially struggling child has a safe place to learn. Above all, though, they just want to see their children happy and enjoying life, and will go out of their way to do so. And together they are very strong; they communicate well, they’re deeply in love with each other, and even though their lives can get hectic and troublesome, they always pull through.
2. Sandy and Kirsten Cohen – The O.C
These two are definitely parents I would want as my own; they’re always generous and loving and they try to do everything in their power to please everyone. Also, they welcomed a troubled Ryan when he didn’t have a place to stay and they took good care of him.
3. Phil and Claire Dunphy – Modern Family
Everyone admires Phil and Claire’s relationship with their kids; they are cool with them but at the same time trying to raise them well. One can argue that Haley turned out to be a failure but then again they truly did the best they can especially Claire who always tries to prevent her from making the same mistakes she did when she was at her age.
4. Bob and Linda Belcher – Bob’s Burgers
They are really supportive parents, regardless of what shady or hilarious thing the kids are up to. They truly love their kids and encourage their unique and weird personalities and hobbies. Plus, they are so proud of them and they will do anything for them.
5. Karen Roe – One Tree Hill
Karen was a single mother to Lucas whose dad was mostly out of the picture. She did an amazing job raising him even though she was running a business at the same time. And she was constantly a good listener; he sometimes goes to her when he needs relationship advice, which is a rare thing to happen between a teenage boy and his mother.
6. Martha and Jonathan Kent – Smallville
The Kents are very kind and compassionate parents who instill within Clark a strong sense of morals. They also encouraged him to use his powers to make the world a better place while protecting him as much as they can. That’s why they’re the kind of parents that everyone wants to have.
