Google Play Movies only offers TV shows and movies for rental or purchase. Buying movies can start from $5.99 for SD or $6.99 for HD, while renting can start from $3.99 for SD or $4.99 for HD. For buying shows, episodes usually cost $2.99 for SD and $3.99 for HD. Just like iTunes, there's no rental option for shows in Google Play Movies.
Google recently announced that the Google Play Movies and TV app will no longer be available on any Roku set-top box or any Samsung, LG, Vizio or Roku smart TV beginning July 15. You can still access any rented or purchased content using Roku devices and the aforementioned smart TVs with the YouTube app.
