When it comes to broadband, everyone’s needs are different. Some use the internet moderately – only to check e-mail, stay in touch with friends and watch videos every now and then. Others rely on their broadband connection for much more – like downloading, streaming or playing online video games which consume a huge chuck of data. If you’re an Internet addict, we’ve got good news: MATE Communicate offers unlimited data at a fair price, so you’ll never have to worry about running out of GB again.

There are a plethora of internet providers out there, so it’s natural to weigh your option carefully before choosing one that best fits your needs. However, MATE Communicate Broadband stands out from the crowd due to two major things: they offer unlimited data plans and they don’t make you sign any lock-in contract. With MATE Communicate, you pay on a month-to-month basis and don’t have to worry about data usage, which can be great for heavy Internet users who spend hours in front of their trusted computers.

The only downside? You might be required to pay $149 for a modem, but we’ll get into that a bit later. For now, let’s see what the friendly telco has in store for new and data-hungry customers.

If you’re on the hunt for a new broadband provider, MATE Communicate offers NBN and ADSL plans, both with unlimited data and no lock-in contract.

NBN Plans

You can always check if NBN is available in your area using our NBN rollout map. If you get access to the speedy internet, we’re positive you’ll find a MATE Communicate NBN plan that suits your needs. You can choose between:

  • Cost
  • Data
  • Speed
  • Activation Fee
  • Lock-in Contract
  • #goodmates plan
  • $59/month
  • unlimited
  • 12Mbps/1Mbps
  • none
  • none
  • #greatmates plan
  • $69/month
  • unlimited
  • 25Mbps/5Mbps
  • none
  • none
  • #bestmates plan
  • $89/month
  • unlimited
  • 50Mbps/20Mbps
  • none
  • none
  • #soulmates plan
  • $99/month
  • unlimited
  • 100Mbps/40Mbps
  • none
  • none
It’s also important to note that there are no plan change fees, so you can switch between the plans above as your budget fluctuates.

As for the modem, you can use your own and enjoy no setup fees, but only under certain conditions, all depending on the type of connection you have access to. You can ask for a NBN modem with pre-configured settings (plug and play) for $149.00 (includes delivery) or use your own.

ADSL Plans

If the NBN isn’t available in your area, MATE Communicate’s ADSL plans are pretty appealing on their own. Here’s what they offer:

  • Cost
  • Data
  • Lock-in Contract
  • #citymates plan
  • $49/month
  • unlimited
  • none
  • #countrymates plan
  • $59/month
  • unlimited
  • none

These ADSL plans don’t include the monthly phone line rental and the modem. Concerning the modem, you can use your own or ask MATE Communicate for one (it costs $149). A connection fee may apply to connect your home phone service if the service has been disconnected for more than three months:
  • Existing telephone line without a technician visit $59.00
  • Existing telephone line with a technician visit $179.00
  • New telephone line connection $299.00 with a technician visit and cabling work
If you already have an active ADSL service, you may be eligible for a “fast churn”. In this case the telco will be able to transfer your service to MATE Communicate quicker. If your current supplier does not participate in the fast churn process, MATE Communicate will activate your service as a new connection. You can always contact the provider for more info.

Broadband + Phone Bundles

For an extra $9, you can add a phone line to your NBN broadband connection.  You get unlimited calls to local, national and mobile numbers. The cost doesn’t include a VoIP device, but MATE Communicate can provide a router with VoIP capabilities for $169.00 and a VoIP device (Analogue Telephone Adapter) with pre-configured (plug and play) settings for $49.00 (includes delivery). International calls and calls to 13/1300 numbers are also not included in the $9.

You can also bundle your ADSL plan with a phone line. If you choose to do so, the #citymates plan becomes $69/month, while the #countrymates plan will cost $99/mth. Besides the broadband connections, both plans include unlimited local/national calls, calls to mobiles at 40c per min, and calls to 13/1300 numbers at 50c per call.

Conclusion

MATE Communicate can be a great choice for Internet users who go online a lot, hence can greatly benefit from an unlimited data plan. There are no contracts involved, so customers are free to leave at any time if they are unsatisfied with the service, which is also a plus. They also have great customer support and you can easily talk to someone about any issues you may be experimenting via phone, e-mail, Facebook or live chat. All in all, there’s basically no reason why you shouldn’t give MATE Communicate a try. You may become #goodmates after all.

Very good reliable and local (Australian support) ISP. A lot better than the rest for reliabliity, service, and politeness to it’s customers.

Other isp providers should be ashamed and take note of Mate’s attitude towards its customers.

Good on you MATE! – you have won me!

I agree with Steve, outstanding customer service and exceptional IT service who were very patient during set up. Great example of what a service provider should strive for. Top Mate
