Improvements in technology, and a change in policy at Foxtel, has driven down not just the cost of Fox Sports for Aussie viewers, but the commitment required to sign up. By signing up through Foxtel Now, you’ll get Fox Sports for a modest $54 monthly fee. For around $99 you can get yourself the Foxtel Now set-top box, which will make browsing and viewing quicker and easier, though you can stream on a wide range of other devices. If you’re not sure if it’s the service for you, there’s a ten-day free trial which will let you try out Fox Sports’ channels without paying a cent.

Fox Sports with Kayo

Being a dedicated sports streaming service, Kayo has got the sporting codes of all the major sporting events so there’s no missing out on all the big games and matches. They are also focused on certain sporting codes rather than channels, although streaming of linear channels like that of Fox Sports is available as well. Streaming with Kayo is easy and with many options. You can take advantage of their 14-day free trial offer, and watch the remainder of the AFL and NRL 2021 seasons.

Kayo is also available from Telstra, although you have to be a Telstra postpaid customer in order to add the service to your account. Currently, subscribing to Kayo through Telstra can give you monthly discounts for a year ($20/mth off for Live Pass customers and $10/mth off for standard Telstra customers).

Fox Sports with Telstra and Foxtel Now

If you happen to have an active Telstra subscription, you can opt to simply add Foxtel Now to your account to make paying your bills even more convenient. Getting Foxtel Now from Telstra pretty much delivers the exact same thing as Foxtel Now from Foxtel does, and also comes with a 10-day free trial offer as well.

Fox Sports verdict

If you love your sport, free-to-air TV just isn’t going to scratch that itch. Digging around the channels trying to find the often-delayed coverage of your favourite sport can be frustrating enough, but for many sporting codes, there’s no coverage on free-to-air at all.
