Don’t despair, we’re here to help guide you through your woes. If you’re having any trouble with the pixelation, stopping and starting or interference with the content you’re watching via your Chromecast, here’s what you should do:

Chromecast’s performance can be affected by a number of reasons. For example, the distance between the device and the router in your house can affect the performance; or maybe it’s your router’s settings; the quality of your Internet connection; or potential interference from other electronic devices. If any of these problems are troubling you, then you must follow these steps to eradicate the issues.
    • Do this as a precautionary step: reboot your router and modem by unplugging it and plugging it back in after 30 seconds. Usually, if there isn’t any other problem, this will do the trick and you will be able to watch your Presto content on your intended quality.
    • If your play the movie on your tablet device from another room and are expecting top quality streaming, you should know that proximity between the device and your TV matters. Make sure the Chromecast and the tablet you’re streaming the movie from are in the same room for the best experience.
    • Even the proximity between your TV and the router you receive wireless internet from is important as it can affect the quality of the streaming. To get the best Wi-Fi signal from your router, place it as close to the TV room as possible, so the Chromescast and the tablet can sync seamlessly for a better viewing experience.
    • Some routers may not be fully compatible with the Google Chormecast, but with a little tweak, will be able to work without any hiccups. Check your router settings and the recommended settings on the Chormecast device for full compatibility.
  • Do you have other electronic devices in the room, like a microwave, hairdryer or maybe a blow dryer? These appliances can easily interfere with the Chromecast and hamper its operation. To prevent this interference, unplug the appliances to see if they are the cause of the problem and remove themfrom the room so you can confirm the issue. They are usually the cause of static, so if moving them isn’t possible, the least you can do is switch them off for the duration of your movie.
