The services Telstra diligently provides are varied. With every plan made available to suit every customer’s preferences, it’s just fitting to say that flexibility is one of the telco’s topmost priorities. From its mobile to BYO plans, Telstra has got it all. And since new plans have just been launched, we can only expect better inclusions at reasonable rates.
Telstra’s 12-month SIM only plans include substantial data allowances so you never miss out on anything online. It doesn’t matter where you are, you’re guaranteed to experience its solid mobile network. So, if getting a new phone is not something you’re looking to have, Telstra’s BYO plans should more than suffice.
Revamped BYO Plans
Have your own device? It shouldn’t be an issue. You can sign up for Telstra’s newly simplified BYO 12-month plans starting with the Telstra BYO Plan $49. It includes 15GB of data, unlimited standard calls, and texts in Australia for $49 per month. In case you run out of data, extra data is automatically added at $10/GB. Then comes Telstra BYO Plan $69 packing 30GB of included data and unlimited standard calls and texts in Australia. The highest tier plan under BYO packages is the Telstra BYO Plan $89. It has 60GB included data and the standard unlimited calls and texts in Australia.
Peace of Mind Data
In addition, Telstra Mobile also introduces the Peace of Mind data, which places data speeds capped at 1.5 Mbps after included data allowance runs out. So even when your data allocation has been depleted, going completely offline is not an option. However, it’s not suitable for streaming HD video or performing high-speed applications. In that case, you can always choose Extra Data at $10 per GB. Peace of Mind Data is available on the $69 and $89 plan.
Offers on Select BYO Plans
Aside from the Peace of Mind Data available on the $69 and $89 plan, unlimited international talk and text to 15 select countries is also part of both plans’ inclusions. These countries are as follows – Bangladesh, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, UK, USA, and Vietnam. Meanwhile, customers can also enjoy a free Foxtel Now 12-month subscription if you sign up to the $89 BYO plan, which also includes 2GB international data roaming and unlimited talk and text. You can redeem your free Foxtel Now before 30 January 2019. Premium packs, however, are not included.

When you sign up for any of Telstra’s mobile plans, you also get unlimited Telstra Air® WiFi data, AFL, AFLW, NRL and Netball live, fast and data-free, and Apple Music data-free with 6 months free subscription. Plus enjoy a new release rental only from BigPond Movies to use within your first month. Register before 30 January 2019 and be a new BigPond Movies customer to avail of the free offer.
Network and Coverage
Telstra has always been confident in their network and for a very good reason. The Telstra Mobile Network currently delivers 4GX in all capital CBDs and in some suburban and regional areas. With the telco actively continuing to expand their coverage, customers can expect for the 4GX network to roll out to more places. As for other coverage areas, customers will automatically switch to Telstra’s fastest available 4G or 3G.
What Else Does Telstra Offer?
Australia’s largest network pretty much offers everything telco-related. Its mobile plans are not only complete with unlimited texts and calls, it also includes huge data allowances plus more exciting inclusions. The prices are even made more reasonable so that it fits every customer’s budget while still being fast and reliable. Aside from the BYO plans, Telstra’s mobile and lease plans have also undergone an efficient overhaul. Whether you want to buy a phone or just lease one, data allowances range from 3GB to unlimited while prices are from $59 to $199 per month. Bonuses are also available on select plans.
