New streaming provider “Stan” announces sweet $10 price and prime shows
Stan (the love child of Entertainment and Fairfax Media) has just confirmed it will be available to subscribers for only $10/month – another win for all you TV/movies watching devotees. The service will face stiff competition with Presto and Quickflix both listed at a similar price; Netflix (which will arrive in Australia in March) is also tipped to charge within the same bracket.
Stan will premiere two Amazon Prime original shows Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle. It announced in December content deals with:
Viacom International Media Networks
CBS Studios and BBC Worldwide
MGM, which secure the streaming rights to Fargo
Subscribers will have access to unlimited hours of TV shows (Better Call Saul, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife…) and films like The Hobbit or the complete collection of Bond films including Skyfall.
Content for children will be also available (with the convenience of individual profiles to control viewing options): Dora The Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Octonauts and iCarly.
