On March 13, Foxtel’s much anticipated Presto movie service announced its launch date will be March 13. With Presto, customer’s will be receive unlimited access to a Foxtel movie archive, from live channels as well as on-demand, for $19.99 per month.
Presto uses Foxtel’s movie channels and on demand videos and also offers a pay-per view service for new releases. All of these services are available for the flat monthly rate with no contract to sign. The service allows customers to view movies without having to lock into a T.V. subscription.
Upon its release, Presto will be accessible for streaming on PC’s, Mac, and ipads, and new subscribers can get a sign on discount where the first month is only $4.99. Presto subscribers will soon after be able to access the service on ios and android devices.
Presto originally priced the service at $24.99 per month. In an effort to be more competitive, Presto lowered the cost. If Presto doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, Foxtel is still offering their regular Play Video Service that offers movies and dramas at a new price of only $10 per month (there is a minimum $25 charge of the basic Foxtel play tier).
Another benefit of Presto is the ad-break-free format. Presto will allow Foxtel to be more flexible with the options it makes available to its customers and broaden its customer base. Presto will allow customers access to all of Foxtel’s movie channels, including: Foxtel Movies Premiere, Foxtel Movies Comedy, Foxtel Movies Drama/ Romance, Foxtel Movies Thriller/ Crime, Foxtel Movies Action/ Adventure, Foxtel Movies Family, and Foxtel Movies Masterpiece. Customers will have access to all of these movie channels without having to pay a basic tier package.
The new all-access movie service is perfect for movie buffs. Along with its new release features, Presto allows customers to access extensive movie collections that are well curated into categories and accessible through an interactive interface.
The Presto service will be available all over Australia for those with an internet connection. Come March 13, Presto customers will be able to sign up for Foxtel’s new movie service on a monthly basis, free of any contract, or base tier fee.
