With tournaments for men’s and women’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles, China has had a stranglehold on the event, having recorded a victory there 93 times – more than four times that of Indonesia, who sit in second place with 21 wins.

Why you should Watch Badminton in 2019

Here are a few reasons why you shouldn’t miss a minute of the upcoming tournament:

  • The VICTOR China Open is one of just three BWF World Tour Super 1000 events on the calendar.
  • Though the Chinese have historically dominated the event, the last four years have seen only one female singles winner and one male singles winner from the host country, while no Chinese men’s double pairing has won since 2001.
  • With events across five different categories, the VICTOR China Open offers a chance to watch the best players in the world in a range of formats.
